During the summer of 2011 Serhat participated in Rays and worked on a project about influenza virus surface proteins. After Rays, he continued to work on his project and after over 500 hours in the lab environment, there was no doubt that he had found the right field for him, biotechnology. Today he's his third year at the Royal Institute of Technology, where he is studying Biotechnology. He's also been involved in the Scouts and is currently chairman for one of the largest scout groups in Sweden. Serhat has also taught at secondary level in chemistry, natural sciences and mathematics.
Anna participated in Rays in 2011 and the next summer she represented Sweden at the Research Science Institute at MIT. Since then she has been active in Unga Forskare and has worked with a research team at the MAX IV laboratory in Lund. During the summer of 2014 she assisted in an experiment at Europe's largest electron accelerator in the French Grenoble. Now she's studying her Master in Engineering Mathematics in Lund. While studying, she teaches mathematics at the university and loves sporting. In addition to compeeting, she has worked as a tennis coach for many years.
Klara took part in Rays 2014 and then competed with her biomedical Rays project in Utställningen Unga Forskare. There, she won a scholarship to travel and to represent Sweden in the European Union Science Contest 2015. Previously, she has worked as a study coach, participated in the mentoring program LinKI and played football since childhood.
Isaac attended Rays in 2011 with a project in complex mathematics. Since then, he's studied engineering physics, computer science and music at KTH. His thesis dealt with a physical computer model for articulatory speech synthesis, and this spring he's working on his master thesis. In his spare time he devotes himself to music in choirs, bands, farce, and musicals. Everything complex is to his liking, which has led to delving into in everything from crafts and origami to praline casting and drawing.
